Parts: 4 (Interaction, Description, Discussion, and Conversation)
🧩 Part 1 – Personal Questions (Interview)
Examiner's Questions:
What’s your name?
Where are you from?
How often do you use the internet?
What kind of apps do you use most often?
Do you prefer texting or talking on the phone? Why?
Do you often use social media?
What do you usually use your computer or mobile phone for?
Do you think technology makes life easier? Why or why not?
⏱️ Time: 3 minutes
🖼️ Part 2 – Describing a Photo
Each candidate gets one picture and describes it alone for about 1 minute.
Candidate A – Picture
(Describe the photo below for one minute.
🖼️Topic: Technology – working or studying online
Task:
“Here is your photograph. Please tell me what you can see in the picture.”
⏱️ Time: 1 minute each
💬 Part 3 – Collaborative Task (Discourse)
Here is your prompt and a situation to talk about.
🖼️ Topic: Choosing the best way to communicate with friends
People use many different ways to stay in touch. Here are some ideas:
Make phone calls
Send text messages
Use video calls
Meet in person
Send emails
Use social media apps
Task:
Talk about which ways are the most useful or fun for staying in contact with friends, and decide which one is best.
⏱️ Time:
First phase 1:30 minutes of talking time. (discussion)
Second phase 30 seconds to come to a conclusion. (decision)
Important note*
In the actual exam, you will be given a visual prompt; a paper full of pictures), and you will have about 3 minutes to speak with your partner in the first phase and then in the second phase, you will have only 1 minute to come to a conclusion.

Do you think it’s better to meet face to face or talk online?
What are the advantages of using social media?
