Time: 10–12 minutes
Participants: 2 candidates + 2 examiners
Parts: 4 (Interaction, Description, Discussion, and Conversation)

🧩 Part 1 – Personal Questions (Interview)

Examiner's Questions:

  • What’s your name?

  • Where are you from?

  • Do you enjoy shopping? Why or why not?

  • How often do you go shopping?

  • Do you prefer buying things in shops or online?

  • What kind of things do you usually spend money on?

  • Have you ever saved money for something special? What was it?

  • Do you think people spend too much money on clothes or gadgets?

⏱️ Time: 3 minutes

🖼️ Part 2 – Describing a Photo

Each candidate gets one picture and describes it alone for about 1 minute.

Candidate A – Picture

(Describe the photo below for one minute.)
🖼️ Topic: Shopping – people buying clothes in a store

Task:
“Here is your photograph. Please tell me what you can see in the picture.”

⏱️ Time: 1 minute each

💬 Part 3 – Collaborative Task (Discourse)

Here is your prompt and a situation to talk about.

🖼️ Topic: Choosing the best way to spend money wisely

People want to use their money in a good way. Here are some ideas:

  • Save money for the future

  • Buy things on sale

  • Spend money on experiences (like trips or concerts)

  • Donate to charity

  • Invest in education or courses

  • Avoid buying unnecessary things

Task:
Talk about which of these ideas are the best ways to spend or save money wisely, and decide which one is the most important for people today.

⏱️ Time:

  • First phase: 1:30 minutes of talking time (discussion)

  • Second phase: 30 seconds to come to a conclusion (decision)

Important note*
In the actual exam, you will be given a visual prompt (a paper with pictures), and you will have about 3 minutes to speak with your partner in the first phase, and then 1 minute to come to a conclusion in the second phase.

🎯 Part 4 – Discussion (Follow-up questions)

Examiner asks general questions related to the theme of Part 3.

Task:

  • What do you think people spend too much money on today?

  • Is it better to save money or spend it? Why?

  • Do you think young people are good at managing money?

  • How has online shopping changed people’s habits?

  • What would you do if you suddenly had a lot of money?
