Explanation
We use this, that, these, those to point to things.
This → 1 thing close to me.
This is a chair.
That → 1 thing far from me.
That is a chair.
These → 2+ things close to me.
These are chairs.
Those → 2+ things far from me.
Those are chairs.
Question forms:
What is this? → This is a pen.
What is that? → That is a tree.
What are these? → These are books.
What are those? → Those are birds.
