WARM UP

Think about shopping.

• What do you usually buy in a shop?

Shopping items

birthday card – tarjeta de cumpleaños

GRAMMAR – NEED, WANT, TOO

We use these words to talk about shopping and preferences.

• Use need for things that are necessary
• Use want for things you would like
• Use too for something more than necessary (too much / too expensive / too big)

Customer: Oh, this rucksack is nice, but it is too expensive.

Shop assistant: We have a cheaper one.
Customer: Great, I’ll take it.
