Think about yesterday.

VOCABULARY – ADJECTIVES

Adjectives

brilliant /ˈbrɪl.jənt/ – brillante
Example: The film was brilliant.

fun /fʌn/ – divertido
Example: The party was fun.

heavy /ˈhe.vi/ – pesado
Example: The bag was heavy.

new /njuː/ – nuevo
Example: I have a new phone.

pleased /pliːzd/ – contento
Example: I am pleased with my results.

quick /kwɪk/ – rápido
Example: The test was quick.

ready /ˈre.di/ – preparado
Example: I am ready for class.

strong /strɒŋ/ – fuerte
Example: He is strong.

Say each word out loud.

GRAMMAR – PAST SIMPLE (BE) + WH- QUESTIONS

We use was and were to talk about the past.

• Use was for I / he / she / it
• Use were for you / we / they

We use Wh- questions to ask for information.

SHORT ARTICLE

Yesterday was a good day. I was ready in the morning, and I was very pleased with my work. My day was fun, and I learned something new. The class was quick, but interesting. In the evening, I carried a heavy bag, but I felt strong. It was a brilliant day.
