Use each event in a short sentence.

GRAMMAR – PREPOSITIONS OF TIME (on, at, from, until)

We use prepositions of time to talk about days and times.

• Use on for days and dates.
• Use at for exact times.
• Use from to say when something starts.
• Use until to say when something finishes.

Examples

• The meeting is on Monday.
• The party is at 8 p.m.
• The class is from 9 a.m.
• The class is until 11 a.m.
• The conference is from Monday until Wednesday.
• My appointment is at 3 p.m. on Friday.

DIALOGUE – TALKING ABOUT EVENTS

Anna: Do you have a meeting today?
Mark: Yes, I have a meeting at 10 a.m.

Anna: Is the conference on Friday?
Mark: Yes, it starts from 9 a.m. and continues until 4 p.m.

Anna: What about the party?
Mark: The party is on Saturday at 8 p.m.

SHORT ARTICLE

This week is busy. I have a meeting on Monday at 9 a.m. I have a class from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Tuesday. There is a birthday party on Friday at 7 p.m. On Saturday, I have a concert at night. I also have a doctor’s appointment on Sunday at 5 p.m.
