Speaking Evaluation

1. Grammar & Vocabulary (4.0)

Evaluate the range, accuracy, and sophistication of the student's language.

  • Range of vocabulary

  • Use of topic-specific and technical vocabulary

  • Variety of grammatical structures

  • Accuracy of grammar

  • Use of complex sentence structures

  • Natural and appropriate word choice

2. Pronunciation (3.0)

Evaluate how clearly and naturally the student speaks.

  • Pronunciation of individual words

  • Stress placement

  • Intonation and rhythm

  • Speaking speed (pace)

  • Accent control

  • Overall intelligibility

3. Discourse Management (4.0)

Evaluate how well the student organises and develops spoken responses.

  • Sentence organisation

  • Logical flow of ideas

  • Cohesion and linking language

  • Topic focus

  • Answer development

  • Use of supporting details and examples

4. Interaction (3.5)

Evaluate how effectively the student communicates with another person.

  • Hesitation and fluency

  • Ability to answer exam questions directly

5. Global Performance (3.5)

Evaluate the overall impression of the student's speaking.

Answering Style (Levelled)

A student's level is often reflected not only by grammar, but by how they build and develop their answers.

Example 1 — Daily Routine

Well, I usually wake up at around 7 a.m. because I like having enough time to get ready before work.

Example 2 — Describe an Animal
